How to use Cutimed® Sorbact® gel.

Indications

Cutimed Sorbact gel is especially designed for contaminated, colonised or infected wounds which are dry or low exuding, for example

  • chronic wounds, e.g. venous, arterial, or diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers
  • wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses
  • postoperative dehisced wounds
  • traumatic wounds

The hydrogel component additionally promotes autolytic debridement in sloughy or partly necrotic wounds.

Instructions for use

  1. Clean the wound as usual and apply Cutimed Sorbact gel gently onto
the wound. Ensure direct contact with the wound surface.
  2. Fold back any potentially overlapping material in direction of the wound.
  3. If desired, add remaining hydrogel from the peel pouch onto the applied dressing.
  4. Depending on the level of exudate, cover Cutimed Sorbact gel either
    • with a transparent film dressing (i.e. Fixomull transparent or Leukomed T)
    • or with an absorbent secondary dressing, such as a thin foam dressing, gauze or an absorbent pad.
