FAQ: Cutimed PROTECT product range

Why were the contents not printed on the product itself?

The ingredients of a cosmetic product are always stated on the packaging. Products that form part of the Cutimed PROTECT family are, however, medical products. The ingredients of a medical product and all important information relating to the use of this product are included in the form of a package insert. This is indicated by a symbol on the packaging (open book with an “i”).

Is Cutimed PROTECT (cream, spray, applicator) suitable for those who suffer from allergies?

We can never rule out the fact that a person may be allergic to one of the ingredients of this product.

The film of the products that form part of the Cutimed PROTECT family consists of only two ingredients (Disiloxane and Acrylates copolymer), which makes the possibility of a patient experiencing an allergic reaction rather unlikely. In the manufacturing stage of the three different forms of application of the Cutimed PROTECT family, specific attention is paid to the use of components that have the lowest allergic potential (e.g. dyes, scents).

Does Cutimed PROTECT contain lanolin?

No, the products that form part of the Cutimed PROTECT family do not contain lanolin.

Can Cutimed PROTECT also be used beneath a plaster cast or does the plaster cast/plaster adhere to the skin?

Reports and examinations have not been written or carried out to date in relation to the use of Cutimed PROTECT beneath a plaster cast. However, the skin protective film does not contain adhesive properties after drying, therefore the plaster cast should not adhere to the film.
