Dissolve slough and necroses:

Autolytic debridement is an effective yet gentle method to dissolve fibrinous or sloughy tissue. Cutimed Gel shows superior moisture donation which contributes to an effective therapy. Care should be taken not to over-apply the gel to avoid any risk of maceration. For your convenience, Cutimed Gel allows various ways of application:
- directly from the tube
- via a sterile spatula (due to its viscosity even upside down, which is a major advantage in daily practice)
- or by its sterile applicator (for deeper parts of wounds)
For best results cover Cutimed Gel with a sterile film dressing (e.g. Leukomed T). After amputations also retention bandages (e.g. Easifix K, Elastomull haft) might be required for lasting fixation.
Cleanse and prevent or manage infection:

Cutimed Sorbact gel is a ready-to-use combination of bacteria-binding dressing and hydrogel. Wound pathogens are bound and inactivated by the unique Sorbact method while the hydrogel component helps cleansing the ulcer from slough and fibrin.
- Fold back overlapping egdes in direction of the wound to avoid maceration of skin or wound margins.
- Use a secondary dressing that retains the moisture in the wound.
Cutimed Skin Care
The surrounding skin of a diabetic foot ulcer may be fragile, sensitive or dry.
- Cutimed ACUTE with 5 or 10% urea helps very dry skin to re-balance its moisture content and to stabilize its natural barrier function.
